A 7-inch OLED and reinforced tabletop hardware keep the mature Switch library visually convincing. The aging processor and shallow Joy-Con grips now define its limits.
$358 typical
Its modest price is traceable to the OLED, superior stand, Ethernet dock and 64GB storage rather than prestige. It is not a performance buy in 2026; it is a well-integrated, affordable way into a very large dedicated library.
Delivers true blacks and high perceived contrast without raising GPU demand.
The wide stand and firmer rail engagement materially improve physical usability.
Keeps the hybrid console light enough for portable play.
One of the most attractive conventional consoles: thin, quiet and light, with an excellent screen and broad stand. Joy-Con grip remains shallow for large hands, so a grip accessory helps for marathon sessions.
iFixit documents the improved rails but the console is not an easy-service design. The mature software library and widely available accessories are its durability strengths; expect eventual battery/Joy-Con servicing.
