Vials are cast into the ribbed aluminium frame with non-shrink epoxy, eliminating the adjustable-carrier failure point that plagues cheaper levels. Higher price buys frame/vial engineering, not brand prestige.
$235 typical
The price is principally frame and vial-installation engineering: high-strength ribbed aluminium plus epoxy-fixed vials. The published normal and reverse specification is the same 0.5 mm/m, a meaningful advantage for reversal checks.
High rigidity is the defence against a permanently inaccurate, bent level.
Immovably couples vials and frame rather than relying on an adjustable carrier.
Protects ends while remaining removable for flush work.
A sober, excellent working object: deep ribbing and rubberized grips on longer versions give a secure carry, while removable caps permit corner/flush marking. It is heavier and more expensive than value options.
Vials are guaranteed against leak, fog and breakage; end caps are removable. A bent extrusion is not repairable, so inspect/perform a reversal test after impacts.
