WHY THE PRICE IS JUSTIFIED

The basket has verified recycled polypropylene construction, large dimensions, and retailer descriptions supporting laundry and household storage use. The Strategist reports first-hand testing of the large HAY basket: it was easy to carry separately or together, and the aligned gridded holes could serve as handles. It became unwieldy when overfilled. No independent durability or capacity measurement was found.

MATERIALS

Basket body100% post-consumer recycled polypropylene

Light and moisture-tolerant plastic; recycled content reduces virgin-plastic use.

CRITERIA

8/10

Room-Worthy Form

The manufacturer and retailers describe graphic lines, subtle colours, and a contemporary expression; this supports appearance, not performance.

7/10

Effortless Laundry Handling

Strategist testing found the baskets easy to carry separately or together, with aligned gridded holes usable as handles; overfilling made the basket unwieldy.

5/10

Five-Year Fit

Recycled PP and a simple basket form suit recurring storage use, but independent long-term durability, replacement parts, and repair support are unverified.

5/10

Load-and-Airflow Test

The Strategist provides hands-on carrying evidence and reports that gaps help prevent socks escaping, but no loaded stability, airflow, or capacity test is reported.

4/10

Wear, Wash, Repair

The PP body has no documented rust or fabric-seam issue, but cleaning instructions, cracking resistance, replacement parts, and repair options are unverified.

IDEAL FOR

·Design-conscious homes wanting an open laundry or storage basket
·Users carrying laundry short distances
·Dry laundry and general household storage
·Users wanting a tall, lidless basket

NOT FOR

·Users needing wheels, a lid, liner, sorting, or collapsible storage
·People who regularly overfill or carry very heavy loads
·Buyers requiring independently verified long-term durability

DESIGN & ERGONOMICS

Graphic lines, subtle or versatile colours, and a tall rectangular form give it a more intentional home-storage appearance than a conventional utility basket. The flat rim can function as a handle from any direction, while the open structure provides visibility.

LONGEVITY

The basket is made from 100% post-consumer recycled polypropylene. The Strategist reports continued use of the tested HAY baskets and notes that the large basket becomes unwieldy when overfilled, but provides no multi-year durability result. No replacement parts, fasteners, cleaning instructions, or repair program was verified; cracking and joint life remain unknown.
