Current top recommendation: Joseph Joseph Tota Twin 90L Grey Laundry Separation Basket.

Joseph Joseph
Top PickTwo removable 45L cotton totes make sorting and machine transfer notably direct. Replacement bags and washable liners help, but the unventilated 90L body and limited exact-model testing weaken its $161 case.

UPGRADETop pick and upgrade: the raised steel cabinet pairs two 45L sections with ventilation and a washable sack. A 10-year warranty and stated 20-year parts support justify more of its $265 price.

BUDGETBudget pick: coated steel wire and a wood-trimmed handle make this 23L basket easy to carry and leave visible. Open mesh airs clothes, though the 3kg limit rules out large loads.

CleverMade
A cotton-blend shell and leather-look grips soften the usual collapsible form. It folds to 1.5 inches and handles everyday loads well, but fabric care and long-term hinge life remain unclear.

Rubbermaid
The curved side and three grips make one-handed, hip-level carrying unusually practical. Its rigid 1.5-bushel body handles full loads, though owners report eventual handle breakage.

Graphic ribs turn recycled polypropylene into credible open storage rather than utility-room clutter. Testing found its gridded rim easy to grip, but overfilling makes the tall basket unwieldy.

Steele Canvas
Specialist pick: the elevated steel frame and smooth casters suit level-floor laundry rooms where bending is difficult. The canvas holds about ten days of one person’s laundry but only spot-cleans.
$58
A slender 52cm profile gives this ventilated polyethylene basket a smaller visual footprint than broad hampers. It washes easily and carries lightly, but exact-model durability evidence is sparse.
